The Kuwait Municipality confirmed on Monday that safeguarding state property is a shared social responsibility and is not limited to temporary campaigns to remove encroachments, which will be dealt with on an ongoing basis.
Mohammed Al-Jalawi, a member of the central team at the Municipality Director General’s Office, emphasized in a media statement on the sidelines of a supervisory tour in Hawalli Governorate that the municipality’s campaign, “Kuwait is More Beautiful Without Encroachments,” launched last June, primarily contributes to ensuring everyone’s safety.
Al-Jalawi clarified that the supervisory team removed an unlicensed structure (diwaniya) erected near the sidewalk and services after the legally mandated period had expired, noting that the violator had been warned but failed to comply.
On the other hand, he praised the cooperation of many property owners who had committed violations, highlighting their swift response in voluntarily removing their infractions, and urged other violators to rectify their violations before supervisory teams reach them.
Al-Jalawi also commended the significant role played by government entities and their participation in the campaign since its inception, including the Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy, the Ministry of Interior, and the Public Authority for Environmental Affairs.
He stated that the municipality encourages citizens and residents to follow its official social media accounts to benefit from awareness messages and guidelines published regularly, and to contact the municipality to inquire about any regulatory requirements, thereby facilitating their procedures and ensuring compliance with laws and regulations.
