Zelensky: Ukraine to receive additional 3 billion euros for military support next week

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that his country will receive an additional 3 billion euros in European military support next week, noting that these funds will help bolster Ukraine’s defensive capabilities.

In a post on the X platform, Zelenskyy said he held extensive talks with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyne, covering various areas of current cooperation between Ukraine and the European Union, as well as the decisions needed to support his country.

He added that he expressed his gratitude to von der Leyne for the latest tranche of 1.24 billion euros in defense aid, which has already reached Ukraine, and welcomed the confirmation that an additional 3 billion euros in military support will be allocated next week.

The Ukrainian president noted that he briefed the European official on the ongoing intense Russian attacks, pointing out that Russian forces had targeted a power plant in Kyiv with a Shahed drone prior to their talks, causing a power outage.
