Zelensky responds to Trump: Ukrainians alone choose their president

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky emphasized in an interview aired on Sunday on ABC News that Ukrainians themselves must choose their officials, in response to a call by his American counterpart, Donald Trump, for a change of leadership in Kyiv.

Zelensky said, “With all due respect to President Trump, it is the right of our society, our people, to choose this official or that one,” reiterating his call for a 60-day ceasefire with Russia, which he believes would allow for elections to be held.
