Thousands of Protesters in London Demand End to Aggression on Gaza

Thousands of pro-Palestinian protesters marched through central London on Saturday, calling for an end to the occupation’s aggression against the Gaza Strip, coinciding with the third anniversary of the October 7 events.

Amy Shalan, director of the Palestine Solidarity Campaign, told AFP, “We are gathering today to commemorate the third anniversary of the ongoing genocide in Gaza.”

She argued that Western sanctions led by Britain in response to violence committed by settlers in the occupied West Bank were insufficient, calling for “comprehensive sanctions on Israel.”

Since the announcement of a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip on October 10, 2025, occupation forces have continued their daily strikes on the enclave, resulting in the martyrdom of 1,450 people, according to the Gaza Health Ministry.

Police stated they arrested several individuals, including a man and a woman who were carrying signs supporting the banned organization “Palestine Action.”

Hibo Hassan, 23, a recent university graduate, said she wanted to express her solidarity.

Another protester, a 32-year-old migrant from Kosovo who introduced himself as Kobi, said his personal experience with the war had driven him to “take action today and not allow history to repeat itself.”

The Palestine Coalition organized the “National March for Palestine,” according to police, three days after the occupation marked the third anniversary of the events.

Capital Police officer Karl Galvin said, “We will follow a zero-tolerance approach toward hate crimes and any other violations.”
