OpenAI expects revenues of $70 billion in 2026

According to sources, the annual revenue of the company behind the AI chat platform ChatGPT reached approximately $50 billion by the end of last September.
The company shared these figures with several investors as part of discussions related to its latest funding round, with talks underway to raise $30 billion or more, based on a market valuation of $1.4 trillion.
OpenAI and Anthropic, along with other AI companies, often highlight their annual revenues as a key indicator of growth. However, not all companies use this metric in the same way.
Anthropic calculates its revenue based on the gross value of sales through cloud computing service partners such as Amazon.com, whereas OpenAI recognizes only its share of the revenue it receives from such partners, including Microsoft. This difference in accounting methods means that OpenAI’s reported revenue could be significantly lower than that of its competitor Anthropic, even if their actual business volumes are similar.
Earlier, Bloomberg reported that Anthropic’s annual revenue reached $65 billion by the end of July last year.
