Air Force Commander: Kuwait-Egypt relations a solid model of love, loyalty, and shared destiny

Kuwait Air Force Commander, Major General and Air Marshal Fahad Al-Kharinji, affirmed on Thursday that Kuwait-Egyptian relations represent a solid model of ties uniting Arab peoples through love, loyalty, and a shared destiny. He praised the fraternal stances and the rich history of cooperation and cohesion between the two brotherly countries.

This statement was made during a speech delivered by the Air Force Commander at a ceremony hosted by the Egyptian Embassy in Kuwait to commemorate the 53rd anniversary of the October 6 victories, attended by Kuwait’s Undersecretary of Defense, Sheikh Dr. Abdullah Mubarak Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah, and a number of accredited diplomatic mission heads.

Al-Kharinji stated that October 6 will remain an immortal day in the history of Egypt and the Arab nation, a day to recall the heroism of the Egyptian Armed Forces and the sacrifices of the righteous martyrs who gave their lives in defense of the land, dignity, and national pride.

He noted that the "Yarmouk" exercise is among the most important joint drills between the Kuwait Air Force and the Egyptian Armed Forces, serving to commemorate and embody the heroism and sacrifices of the Kuwaiti Yarmouk Brigade and its righteous martyrs alongside their brothers in the Egyptian Armed Forces during the glorious October War.

For his part, Military Attaché at the Embassy of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Colonel Mohamed Abdelgawad, affirmed that Kuwait’s position, both government and people, supporting Egypt during the October War embodied the depth of the fraternal and historical relations between the two countries. He noted that the participation of Kuwaiti pilots alongside their Egyptian brothers contributed to cementing a national and Arab epic that history will remember.

Colonel Abdelgawad said in his speech that Kuwait’s support for Egypt was not limited to a specific aspect but stemmed from a noble principle of standing by the side of Arab justice. He emphasized that Kuwaiti blood mingled with Egyptian blood on the battlefields, making Kuwait’s participation in the October victory a shining page in the history of relations between the two countries.

He added that the achievements and common interests realized between Kuwait and Egypt over the past decades reflect the importance of cooperation between the two countries in various fields, particularly military cooperation and the exchange of expertise, which contribute to building bridges of trust and understanding, enhancing a culture of peace, and confronting phenomena of violence and extremism.

Abdelgawad clarified that the anniversary of the October 6 victories serves as an occasion to recall the sacrifices of the valiant Egyptian Army and the heroism it demonstrated in achieving victory. He stressed that the Egyptian Armed Forces have proven their ability to protect the homeland and defend its assets, and remain capable of facing challenges and safeguarding the state’s interests amid the rapid and changing challenges facing the region and the world.
