The Ministry of Commerce and Industry, in cooperation with the Ministry of Interior, seized 25,000 pieces of “chewing tobacco” during an inspection tour of several grocery stores in the Capital Governorate, as it is classified as a prohibited commodity for import, display, marketing, or circulation, in accordance with the provisions of Ministerial Decision No. 216 of 2014.
The inspection was part of joint campaigns carried out by the emergency team of the Capital and Hawalli Governorates (“Shift A”), which resulted in drafting three seizure reports against the violators and taking the necessary legal actions against them.
