Saudi Arabia: Deaths and Injuries in Attacks Targeting Abha and King Khaled Airports

The General Authority of Civil Aviation announced that on Tuesday and Wednesday, 25 and 26 Rabi' al-Thani 1448 AH (corresponding to October 6 and 7, 2026 CE), Abha and King Khalid International Airports were subjected to attacks targeting their facilities. Emergency teams and relevant authorities immediately responded to the attacks in accordance with approved procedures and plans.

The brazen attack on Abha International Airport resulted in the deaths of two residents, one Moroccan and one Algerian, may God have mercy on them, and 28 injuries among two citizens and residents, one Bangladeshi and one Filipino. Their injuries ranged from minor to severe. Meanwhile, the attack on King Khalid International Airport resulted in the death of one Sudanese resident, may God have mercy on him, and eight injuries, including five citizens and two Egyptian residents, and one Pakistani resident. Their injuries also ranged from minor to severe.

All the injured were immediately transferred to hospitals to receive necessary medical care. The attacks also caused some material damage.

The Authority, in coordination and continuous integration with relevant security agencies, is assessing the damage and taking all necessary measures to ensure the safety of passengers and staff, and to safeguard the security and integrity of the civil aviation system in the Kingdom.

In a separate development, Brigadier General Turki Al-Maliki, the official spokesperson for the Coalition Forces “Coalition for the Support of Legitimacy in Yemen,” stated that the ballistic missile launch platform used in the Riyadh attack had been destroyed. The destruction took place in Sana’a during preparations for an imminent attack against the Kingdom.
