KPC: Simplifying Direct Contracting Procedures with Local and International Suppliers

The Kuwait Petroleum Institute and the Direct Investment Promotion Authority organized the International Business Partners Forum on Wednesday under the theme “Direct Procurement and Sustainable Supply for the Kuwaiti Oil Sector” at the Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Cultural Centre, with participation from a number of local and international companies and commercial entities related to the oil sector.

In a statement, the Institute said that organizing the forum is part of its efforts to enhance direct and transparent communication with business partners and investors, to introduce regulatory requirements, registration and qualification procedures, and interaction with the Institute and its subsidiaries, as well as to showcase available investment opportunities in Kuwait and the oil sector.

It emphasized that the forum reflects the Institute’s commitment to enhancing transparency and simplifying direct contracting procedures with local and international suppliers, in light of recent amendments to the law establishing the Institute under Law No. (67) of 2026.

The Institute clarified that these amendments aim to broaden the competitive base and provide opportunities for all qualified suppliers from around the world to participate on a fair and transparent basis, ensuring that the Kuwaiti oil sector obtains the best materials, products, and services in accordance with the highest international standards.

It added that the Institute operates within a supportive legislative and regulatory environment for investment and welcomes the participation of the private sector and foreign investors whose capabilities and expertise align with the needs of the oil sector.

The Authority highlighted that it provides support throughout all stages of the investment journey, including post-investment services, which enhance the sustainability and growth of projects and their contribution to the development of the national economy.

The statement noted that the forum featured presentations on the direct procurement and supply system in the oil sector, qualification and registration requirements, as well as available opportunities for direct investment and cooperation with oil sector companies, reflecting Kuwait’s direction toward strengthening strategic partnerships that support economic development and align with the aspirations of the Kuwaiti oil sector.
