Yemeni Embassy: Kuwait's Steady and Noble Stance in Supporting Our People

The Yemeni Embassy in Kuwait expressed the deep appreciation and gratitude of Yemen, its leadership, government, and people, for the “steadfast and noble fraternal stance of Kuwait, its Amir, government, and people, and its continuous support for the Yemeni people across various stages and circumstances.” It emphasized that this support embodies the depth of the historical ties and shared destiny between the two brotherly nations in the face of challenges threatening regional security and stability.

In a statement obtained by Al-Jarida, the embassy reaffirmed its confidence that “Kuwaiti media and press will continue their role in highlighting national victories that serve the interests of Gulf and Arab national security.”

It announced the launch of a comprehensive military operation named “Yemen’s Dawn,” in implementation of a decision by the Presidential Leadership Council headed by Dr. Rashad al-Alimi, and with backing from the coalition supporting legitimacy. The embassy described the operation as a “decisive turning point toward restoring state institutions and reasserting sovereignty over all Yemeni territories.”

It stated that the decision to launch the operation came “after exhausting all political and diplomatic efforts, both regional and international, to achieve peace,” accusing the Houthi group of continuing military escalation and threatening international shipping lanes and neighboring countries.

The statement outlined three main objectives for the operation: ending the coup, restoring state institutions, and extending the authority of the legitimate government over Yemeni governorates, most notably Sana’a; securing international waterways, particularly the Bab al-Mandab Strait and the southern Red Sea; and targeting Houthi military capabilities, including drones, missile launchers, and boat depots rigged with explosives, according to the statement.

Concluding its statement, the embassy affirmed that the operation is “aimed at restoring state institutions and reasserting sovereignty over Yemeni territories, and securing international maritime routes,” reiterating its appreciation for Kuwait’s stance and the support it provides to the Yemeni people.
