Saudi Cabinet reaffirms support for Yemen's leadership, government, and people to end the coup

The Saudi Cabinet held its session today in Riyadh, chaired by Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman.

Following its review of regional developments, the Cabinet reaffirmed the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s full support for the Presidential Leadership Council, the legitimate government, and the fraternal Yemeni people in ending the coup in this beloved country and restoring the state and its institutions from the terrorist Houthi militia, which has chosen military escalation as an alternative to peace, deepening the humanitarian and economic suffering of Yemen and its people, and continuing to threaten the region, maritime navigation in the southern Red Sea, and the Bab al-Mandab Strait.

The Cabinet commended the outcomes of the emergency meeting of the Political and Defense Strategic Committee of the Mecca Defense Pact, which emphasized solidarity among the three member states and their unified stance against the heinous attacks on the Kingdom that targeted Mecca, Medina, civilian assets, and civilian and economic infrastructure. The meeting also reached an agreement to activate collective deterrence and immediately move to the practical implementation of mutual defense commitments, thereby enhancing readiness, military integration, and the capacity to counter such threats.
