The Kuwait men’s basketball team finished fourth at the West Asia “Wasl” Championship after losing to Saudi Arabia’s Al-Ahli 79-93 in the third-place match, held yesterday in Beirut, Lebanon. Meanwhile, Lebanon’s Al-Riyadi claimed the title after defeating Al-Hekma 75-67 in the final.
Kuwait failed to deliver the expected performance, despite a balanced start that saw the first quarter end in a 24-24 tie. However, Al-Ahli gradually built a lead, going ahead 53-48 at halftime.
In the third quarter, Al-Ahli asserted dominance, outscoring Kuwait 23-8 and extending their advantage to 76-56. Although Kuwait improved its play in the final quarter, Al-Ahli maintained their lead and secured a well-deserved 93-79 victory.
