The Central Tenders Board has approved the request by the Ministry of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy to issue a tender for the construction, completion, and maintenance of two fresh water lines with a diameter of 1600 mm, running from the Abdullah Port Water Distribution Complex to the West Al-Fanitees Complex, along with a slightly saline water line with a diameter of 1200 mm, from the Abdullah Port Water Complex to the Al-Zour Complex, as well as the complementary works for the project.
The launch of this project comes within the framework of the Ministry’s efforts to develop the water transmission system and enhance its capacity to meet growing demands, by implementing large-diameter main lines that connect water distribution complexes to beneficiary areas, thereby supporting network efficiency and enhancing its flexibility in water transmission.
The project aims to deliver water to various areas surrounding the line routes and to leverage the new infrastructure to enhance water services for areas within their coverage, contributing to improved efficiency in water transmission and distribution and supporting service continuity.
The Tenders Board stipulated that the Ministry must provide it with the names of qualified factories to carry out the works before closing the tender, with the number of qualified factories not to be less than three, in accordance with the Public Tenders Law and the regulations governing tendering and awarding processes.
This tender falls under the Ministry’s contracts included in its current plan for the fiscal year 2026/2027, as part of its program to implement infrastructure projects related to the water sector, develop transmission and distribution networks, and enhance their efficiency, in line with the current and future needs of various areas.
