Burkan Bank, in collaboration with CODED Academy, celebrated the conclusion of the Academy X program for the second consecutive year, as part of its strategic sponsorship of the initiative. This sponsorship extends the bank’s commitment to supporting youth, empowering women, and investing in the development of future skills.
The program reflects Burkan Bank’s approach to corporate social responsibility and sustainability, and its dedication to supporting educational initiatives that contribute to the development of national competencies, in alignment with the goals and vision of Kuwait 2035.
The 2026 edition of the Academy X program featured two specialized tracks in tech entrepreneurship and AI-driven marketing, alongside a practical educational experience that enabled participants to develop their skills in technology, innovation, and entrepreneurship, and to transform ideas into practical projects and solutions.
On this occasion, Hessa Hussein Al-Najjada, Senior Director of Media Relations and Corporate Social Responsibility at Burkan Bank, stated: “Our strategic sponsorship of the Academy X program for the second consecutive year stems from our belief in the importance of corporate social responsibility and our role in investing in young talents and supporting women’s empowerment. Over the two years of sponsorship, more than 1,000 female students have graduated from the program, acquiring skills in entrepreneurship and programming, as well as banking culture, in line with the ‘Let’s Be Aware’ campaign launched by the Central Bank of Kuwait in collaboration with the Banks Association and local banks.”
Al-Najjada emphasized, “Through these initiatives, we strive to achieve a sustainable impact consistent with the bank’s strategy and the goals of Kuwait 2035. We believe that these young talents represent the future generation, and that their ambition, ideas, and capabilities can contribute to shaping a prosperous future for Kuwait.”
For her part, Fatima Ahmed, Senior Director of Corporate Culture and Employee Relations at Burkan Bank, noted: “The students’ commitment and determination to complete the program are among the most significant factors contributing to the success of this experience. It provided them with the opportunity to develop their skills and apply what they learned in a practical experience that helps prepare them for the job market and enhances their readiness for future opportunities. We extend our gratitude to all the students for their efforts and commitment, and to their parents for their support and encouragement of their daughters, which played a vital role in enabling them to benefit from this educational experience.”
On his part, Hashem Bahbahani, Co-founder and Chief Operating Officer of CODED Academy, said: “Our partnership with Burkan Bank tops our list of priorities, and we are celebrating this partnership for the second consecutive year within the Academy X program. We are united with the bank by a firm belief that Kuwait’s technological future is built by the efforts of its youth, both young men and women. The program places technology and artificial intelligence in the hands of Kuwaiti girls as tools for innovation and entrepreneurship. Hence, our shared commitment lies in translating this belief into real tech projects and national talents ready for the job market.”
Bahbahani added, “We appreciate Burkan Bank as a strategic partner that views investing in Kuwaiti girls as an investment in Kuwait itself. We thank them for their continuous support and look forward to the second year having a broader impact than the first, and to this partnership continuing for years to come.”
The Academy X program also introduced the students to the “Let’s Be Aware” campaign, highlighting its objectives and main pillars, including encouraging saving and financial planning from an early age, raising awareness about financial fraud and ways to avoid it, and emphasizing the importance of safely using banking services and products. These efforts contribute to enhancing financial and banking culture among the younger generation.
At the conclusion of the program, Burqan honored the winning team for the best project in “Artificial Intelligence and Emerging Technologies” with a cash prize, recognizing the project they presented and its innovative application of the skills and knowledge acquired during the program, reflecting the spirit of innovation and teamwork, as well as the participants’ ability to transform their ideas into projects with a positive impact.
This recognition underscores the bank’s commitment to encouraging young talent, supporting innovation, and motivating participants to develop their ideas and turn them into practical solutions and projects.
Burqan will continue to support initiatives and programs aimed at developing youth capabilities, empowering them, and honing their skills, in line with the goals and vision of Kuwait 2035, and to reinforce its role in fostering a generation capable of contributing to Kuwait’s future.
