Official Media: Iranian Oil Minister Resigns

Iranian state media reported on Sunday that Iranian Oil Minister Mohsen Paknejad has resigned, and that Hamed Bouvard, CEO of the state-owned National Iranian Oil Company, will serve as acting minister. The media did not disclose the reason for the resignation.
Mohsen Paknejad assumed the role of Iran’s Oil Minister, a member of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), in August 2024. His resignation comes amid the pressures of the ongoing war between Iran and the United States, which has been raging for seven months, on the country’s economy.
