With a notable artistic and humanitarian presence, the Syndicate of Artists and Media Professionals participated in the opening event of the breast cancer awareness initiative, under the slogan “Your Awareness... The Pink Safety Belt,” held at the Dasman Hall in the Radisson Blu Hotel. The event was organized by the National Campaign for Cancer Awareness (KANE) in partnership with the Sidra Association for Psychological Care of Cancer Patients, with the participation of several entities.
The Syndicate’s participation featured 21 female artists who presented a diverse collection of visual artworks that embodied meanings of strength, hope, support, and solidarity. These works expressed their solidarity with breast cancer patients and women undergoing treatment, and they received significant interaction and admiration from attendees for their impactful humanitarian messages.
On this occasion, Al-Maqtoof emphasized that the artists’ participation was an extension of the event’s awareness message, which underscores the importance of early screening, regular follow-ups, and health awareness as key means to enhance the chances of early detection and support women’s health.
She noted that this artistic initiative by the Syndicate’s artists reflected their wholehearted support for patients, driven by the belief that art is not limited to beauty but can serve as a voice for awareness, a message of hope, and a means of psychological and moral support.
Al-Maqtoof mentioned that the artistic participation witnessed considerable engagement from artists and attendees, reflecting interest in the works and their humanitarian messages, and encouraging the continuation of this artistic and awareness initiative. She stated: “Based on the directives of the Syndicate’s President, Dr. Al-Filakawi, we announce the organization of a new exhibition titled ‘Your Awareness... The Pink Safety Belt’ on the 28th of this month.”
She invited interested artists to register, coordinate, and follow up with her directly, reaffirming the Syndicate’s welcome for artistic contributions that enrich the exhibition and strengthen its humanitarian message.
