UAE Presidential Advisor Praises Flydubai Pilot's Courage in Facing 'Serious Terrorist Act'

On Friday, UAE presidential advisor Anwar Gargash praised the courage of Flydubai pilot Simit Mathar, who was assaulted by his co-pilot during a flight from Dubai to Tel Aviv that made an emergency landing in Tabuk, Saudi Arabia.

Gargash wrote on the X platform that the Indian pilot “deserves every respect, as he embodied the meaning of courage and responsibility in the face of a serious terrorist act and a potential catastrophe. His professionalism and ethical sense in the darkest of circumstances make him a true hero.” He added, “Away from oversimplifying what happened or adopting and spreading conspiracy theories, vigilance and caution remain essential in confronting the risks of extremism and terrorism.”
