Kuwait Condemns Houthi Militia's Attack on Power Facility in Medina

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed the State of Kuwait’s strong condemnation and denunciation of the Houthi militia’s targeting of an electrical facility serving the Noble Prophet’s Mosque in the holy city of Medina, in the sister Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It reaffirmed Kuwait’s firm rejection of the recurrence of these despicable and cowardly hostile attacks against civilian infrastructure, which constitute a blatant violation of the Kingdom’s sovereignty, a flagrant breach of international law and international humanitarian law, a provocation of the sentiments of Muslims worldwide, and a serious escalation in the violation of the sanctity of Islamic holy sites.

The Ministry reiterated the State of Kuwait’s absolute solidarity with the sister Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, its steadfast support, and its backing of all measures undertaken by the Kingdom to safeguard its sovereignty and security, and to protect its citizens and residents on its territory. It emphasized that the security of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is an integral part of the security of the State of Kuwait and the security of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries.
