Kuwait Premier League clubs continue their preparations to resume the championship competition following the conclusion of the Kuwait national team’s participation in Gulf Cup 27, with coaches racing against time to restore the desired level of performance after the break.

At Al-Qadsieh, the first team resumes training today at the Mohammed Al-Hamad Stadium, after players were granted a 24-hour rest following their friendly match against English side Salzburg, held the day before yesterday, which ended in a 3-2 victory with goals scored by Bader Al-Mutawa, Abdullah Al-Ghanim, and Khaled Al-Kharqaawi.

International players are scheduled to join today’s training sessions upon their return from Saudi Arabia, where they participated with the senior national team in Gulf Cup 27. The players are: Moath Al-Zafiri, Yousif Al-Haqan, Jassem Al-Mutairi, goalkeeper Rakan Al-Saeed, Rashid Al-Dosari, Khaled Sabah, Adabi Shahab, Eid Al-Rashidi, and Abdullah Al-Awadi.

Meanwhile, a preliminary agreement has been reached to host a friendly match against Al-Salmiya next Sunday evening.

For his part, the first team delegation of Kazma Club is set to depart for Dammam on the 12th of the current month, where they will face Saudi club Al-Ittihad on the 14th in the first round of Group 3 of the Gulf Club Champions League.

On the other hand, the team is taking a rest day today and will resume training tomorrow, Saturday. The technical staff, led by Croatian coach Tadić, had granted players a day off yesterday after they played a friendly match against Al-Jazira the previous Thursday evening.

Kazma Club’s treasurer and head of the football department, Omar Al-Mulla, stated that the team is ready to represent Kuwaiti football in the Gulf tournament, aiming to achieve the desired results and compete for qualification from Group 3 to the semi-finals.

Al-Mulla noted that Kazma’s Yemeni foreign player, Nasser Muhammadwah, will return to the country today after completing his duties with his national team at Gulf Cup 27, praising the performance of Shuaib Al-Khaldi with the national team.

He emphasized in his concluding remarks that the national team delivered an excellent performance throughout the tournament, adding that the results did not reflect the outstanding performances shown by the players.

For his part, Masoud Mukhtar, deputy head of the football department at Al-Shabab Club, announced the arrival of Brazilian foreign player Victor, completing the squad’s roster. He explained that Victor was signed as a replacement for his compatriot Marcelo, whose contract was terminated due to dissatisfaction with his performance. The player has already joined group training sessions.

Mukhtar stated that all injuries have been resolved, with nine players having recovered. He noted that some of the recovered players will participate in the fourth-round match against Al-Salmiya, while the full squad will be available for the fifth-round fixture against Al-Fahaheel.

Regarding the performance of foreign players, Mukhtar commented: “I am not satisfied with the level of the foreign players. I have held more than one meeting with them, emphasizing that continuing at this level will result in the termination of their contracts.”
