As the carnival marking the opening of the third phase of Martyr’s Park to the public kicked off yesterday, serving as a prominent two-day recreational and tourism event, Anwar Al-Yatama, head of the Supervision, Management and Follow-up Committee for the third phase of Martyr’s Park, welcomed visitors daily from 4:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. She noted that the event features a diverse and comprehensive array of recreational, sports, musical, and performance activities catering to all age groups, adults and children alike.
Al-Yatama told Al-Jarida that the third phase extends and completes the first and second phases, contributing to the realization of the “Green Belt” project that runs along the outskirts of the capital. This green space supports domestic tourism and development in the State of Kuwait, while providing a natural retreat for citizens and residents. She highlighted that the third phase is distinguished by its high-quality facilities and structures, including the “Sur Theater,” Kuwait’s largest theater, which recently hosted a major musical concert.
She added that the project also includes a comprehensive sports complex featuring an ice-skating rink, a snow city, and a car racing circuit, alongside numerous other sports activities and facilities. This achievement is part of a series of pioneering national landmarks and projects implemented by the Diwan of the Amir to contribute to Kuwait’s cultural and sports renaissance, such as the Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Cultural Center, the Sheikh Abdullah Al-Salem Cultural Center, Bayt Al-Salam, Kuwait Motor Town, the Arab Horse Center, and Bayt Al-Arab.
Regarding future plans, Al-Yatama revealed aspirations to complete the remaining sections of the Green Belt project and to launch the fourth phase in the near future.
