Hamad Abdulaziz Al-Saqer Center for Technology and Innovation, in collaboration with “Amal Kuwait,” has concluded an intensive five-week training program aimed at providing young talents with practical experience that simulates the real-world work environment in the technology sector, and contributing to bridging the gap between academic knowledge and labor market requirements.
Twelve trainees from diverse technical levels and backgrounds participated in the program, working within a professional environment on real projects. They went through various stages of product development, starting with problem identification and solution definition, followed by design, development, testing, and culminating in deployment and launch.
The program also included professional mentoring and workshops on soft skills, covering leadership, emotional intelligence, teamwork, time management, and professional portfolio building.
Speaking to the press yesterday, the Center’s CEO, Saud Al-Anzi, stated that empowering the next generation of local talent lies at the core of the Center’s mission. He emphasized that the partnership with “Amal” has helped bridge the gap between academic education and labor market needs, equipping new graduates with the practical experience necessary to innovate in the fast-paced software development environment.
Al-Anzi added that true innovation occurs when youthful visions meet advanced technology environments. He noted that the collaboration with “Amal” allowed promising developers to directly observe how ideas transition into scalable software solutions, clarifying that software development to global standards requires, alongside theoretical knowledge, the ability to adapt, solve problems, and work across disciplines.
For her part, Leila Hilal Al-Mutairi, CEO of the Kuwait Amal Association, stated that the partnership with the Center represents a strategic collaboration aimed at exchanging academic and technical expertise, and providing opportunities to equip youth with the necessary and required skills for the technology labor market.
Al-Mutairi explained that the cooperation, facilitated through the “Amal” internship opportunities exhibition held last July, provided young people with opportunities to experience working in companies and organizations, and to understand their operational mechanisms by engaging in real work experiences within the departments where they were trained.
She added that “Amal Kuwait” and the participating organizations are committed to providing real challenges through which participants learn methods and mechanisms for finding solutions. She noted that the Center trained students in technical skills and artificial intelligence competencies through practical applications and experiences that contributed to the success of the training journey.
Al-Mutairi pointed out that the internship program operates throughout the year, calling on organizations interested in providing training opportunities for youth to contact the “Amal Kuwait” team.
For his part, Mutaib Al-Majhool, Projects Manager at the Hamad Abdulaziz Al-Saqer Center for Technology and Innovation, stated that the program was keen to provide trainees with an experience close to the actual work environment and to give them the opportunity to go through various stages of product development.
He noted that some participants discovered during the experience an interest in software development fields that were not among their initial choices, considering that a trainee discovering the most suitable path for them represents one of the important aspects at the beginning of their professional career.
