For the sixth consecutive year, the Capital Markets Authority is participating in the events of Global Investor Week 2026, which is organized annually by a committee emanating from the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO) since 2017. The initiative aims to achieve two main objectives: first, to raise investor awareness and enhance their financial literacy and educational opportunities; and second, to protect them, in addition to other targets such as strengthening cooperation among IOSCO members in the context of achieving the aforementioned primary goals.
The Authority’s participation in this event marks its sixth such engagement since its first involvement in the fifth edition in 2021. This aligns with the Authority’s strategic direction to maintain an active presence at various relevant regional and international forums. The participation included an awareness campaign featuring awareness messages broadcast on the Authority’s social media accounts, specifically prepared for this event and addressing the themes of the current year’s Global Investor Week.
Global Investor Week is an annual global campaign held over the course of one week, promoted by the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO). Members and supporters of the organization from all six continents participate by offering a range of activities, such as launching investor-targeted services and communication channels, organizing competitions to raise awareness of educational initiatives, and conducting awareness workshops within the same framework.
The Authority plans to implement an awareness program throughout October, preceding this year’s international event, which will take place from October 5–11, 2026. The program will focus on three main pillars that align with the awareness themes of Global Investor Week this year:
- Investor Resilience: Aimed at raising awareness of the resilience factors investors must possess to protect their investments and cope with market volatility, particularly: knowledge and action plans for both bull and bear markets, and investment diversification.
- Digital Deception: Aimed at highlighting digital deception techniques and deepfakes created using artificial intelligence technologies, including voice and image spoofing, fabricated videos, and other evolving forms of cyber fraud that develop alongside rapid technological advancements.
Finally, the Capital Markets Authority calls on all stakeholders interested in securities activities to follow and participate in this international initiative, to learn about issues that affect their investment decisions, and to view these as opportunities for beginners to learn and empower themselves on their financial journey, becoming part of a global initiative that prioritizes informed and conscious investing.
