Kuwait Stock Exchange indices showed mixed performance midway through Thursday’s trading, the final session of the week. The First Market preserved modest gains, while the Main Market faced selling pressure that pushed it down by more than 1%, with the General Index remaining close to the previous session’s closing levels.

Specifically, the Main Market Index fell 1.18%, losing 107.10 points to close at 8,987.54 points. In contrast, the Main 50 Index posted a more resilient performance, rising slightly by 0.01% to 10,213.64 points, reflecting that some of the selling pressure was concentrated in stocks outside the Main 50 constituents.

Total trading value reached approximately 31.17 million Kuwaiti dinars, involving 108.77 million shares across 9,962 trades. The market capitalization of the exchange stood at around 52.54 billion dinars.

In terms of most actively traded stocks by value, SNAM led with about 3.35 million dinars in turnover, declining 0.08%. It was followed by Awal Takaful with approximately 2.45 million dinars, rising 1.69%, and Sahil with around 2.22 million dinars, surging 6.29%. Efa ranked fourth with liquidity of about 1.63 million dinars and a 0.85% increase, followed by Al-Anzima with roughly 1.44 million dinars, down 0.70%.

Mid-session movements highlighted the divergence between the stability of stocks listed in the First Market and the pressure on certain segments of the Main Market. Meanwhile, the Main 50 Index did not fully reflect the sharp decline of the broader Main Market Index, as part of the liquidity shifted toward selected stocks outside the leading shares.
