The ceremony began with the national anthem, followed by recitations from the Holy Quran, and His Excellency the Minister of the Diwan of the Amir’s Affairs, Sheikh Hamad Jaber Al-Ali Al-Sabah, delivered a speech on this occasion. (The text of the speech is as follows:)
First and foremost, I would like to extend my highest expressions of gratitude and appreciation to His Highness the Amir of the State, Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, may God protect and guard him, for graciously patronizing the opening ceremony of the third phase of the Martyr’s Garden, under the auspices of the Diwan of the Amir’s Affairs. This event reflects His Highness’s keen interest and unwavering commitment to the development and advancement of our beloved nation across all sectors.
Today, we celebrate this new phase, which represents a rich extension of this distinguished national landmark and reinforces its constructive role as a vibrant space that integrates culture, entertainment, and community engagement.
This achievement adds to the developmental projects undertaken by the Diwan of the Amir’s Affairs, including the Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Cultural Center, the Sheikh Abdullah Al-Salem Cultural Center, the Bayt Al-Qasr Museum, and the Kuwait City Motorsports City. These projects span diverse fields but share a common goal: serving society, enhancing the quality of life, and meeting the aspirations of citizens and all residents of the esteemed State of Kuwait.
These accomplishments have been realized thanks to the wise vision and sound guidance of His Highness the Amir of the State, Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, may God protect and guard him, as well as his support for national projects, embodying his steadfast approach to elevating the nation’s capacities.
Kuwaiti youth hold a special place in His Highness’s attention, as he fosters their confidence, encourages initiative, creativity, and responsibility, recognizing their pivotal role in shaping the future.
On this occasion, we extend our sincere thanks to His Highness’s representative, Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, Prime Minister, and to the distinguished attendees for gracing this ceremony. Your participation in this event provides moral support to all those who contributed to this achievement and serves as an incentive for them to continue their efforts and creativity for the progress and prosperity of our country.
We also express our profound appreciation to His Excellency Sheikh Abdulaziz Mishaal Mubarak Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, Deputy Head of the Diwan Amiri and General Supervisor of the Third Phase of the Martyr’s Park Project; to Ms. Anwar Al-Yatama, Chairperson of the Project’s Supervisory and Management Committee; to Mr. Khaled Al-Filikaawi, Vice-Chairman of the Committee; and to all those involved in the project for their extensive, persistent efforts, dedication, sincerity, and commitment to excellence. They have set an exemplary model of competence and effective cooperation, demonstrating the ability of Kuwaitis to deliver major projects. Their contributions are a source of pride and honor, and their work deserves high commendation. We extend our deepest gratitude, praise, and thanks to them. We also thank the sponsoring companies for their valued support and their role in ensuring the success of this ceremony, commending their partnership with the government and their backing of its developmental projects, which reflect a shared responsibility in serving the nation.
In conclusion, we ask God to protect Kuwait and its people, and to perpetuate upon it the blessings of security, safety, stability, and prosperity under the wise leadership of His Highness the Amir of Kuwait, Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, and His Highness the Crown Prince, Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, may God protect and safeguard them. May Kuwait always remain a homeland of goodness and giving, and a beacon of culture, thought, and the arts. May the journey of construction, development, progress, and prosperity continue on its soil, realizing the nation’s elevation and the citizen’s well-being. Peace, mercy, and blessings of God be upon you.
A documentary film was then screened, showcasing the cultural centers affiliated with the Diwan Amiri, highlighting their prominent facilities and cultural and civilizational landmarks, and their role in preserving the national heritage and enhancing Kuwait’s cultural landscape, alongside the programs and activities they provide that help highlight national identity, introduce Kuwait’s history and civilizational legacy, and demonstrate its distinction in the cultural and artistic field.
We gather today on a distinguished national and cultural occasion: the opening of the third phase of Martyr’s Park. We celebrate a new achievement added to Kuwait’s civilizational journey and a new cultural and artistic edifice: the Sur Theater. These achievements carry us toward the future while remaining rooted in our heritage and national identity, creating a place where Kuwait’s memory meets its present and the aspirations of its coming generations.
As we celebrate this achievement, we extend our sincere thanks and appreciation to the leading artists and stars, all participants in this national presentation, the production teams, government entities, and participating institutions for their significant efforts in ensuring the success of this national occasion.
We also convey our heartfelt thanks, appreciation, and gratitude to our partners in this major national celebration: National Bank of Kuwait, Kuwait Finance House (KFH), Al-Shaya Group, Ooredoo Kuwait, and Binstar Al-Yousef, in recognition of their generous initiatives and active contributions to producing this celebration, and in appreciation of their role as partners in the success of this major national and cultural event.
Perhaps one of the most beautiful aspects of this occasion is that the Sur Theater begins its artistic journey with a production bearing its name: the major national theatrical performance “Al-Sur,” which evokes the epic of Kuwait’s walls across generations, embodying values of unity, solidarity, loyalty to the nation, and unity around wise leadership.
May God protect Kuwait and perpetuate upon it the blessings of security, safety, and stability under the wise leadership of His Highness Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Amir of Kuwait, may God protect and safeguard him, and His Highness the Crown Prince, Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, may God protect him. May God continue upon our beloved homeland the path of goodness, giving, progress, and prosperity.
A distinguished group of prominent artists and celebrities performed the national celebratory artistic show “Al-Sour,” which, through its artistic and acrobatic tableaux, depicted key milestones in Kuwait’s history and national journey, evoking the values of cohesion, loyalty, and patriotism, as well as the innate spirit of mutual support and solidarity among the people and heroes on the front lines during crises, and their unwavering unity around the wise leadership, along with the enduring national heritage passed down through generations.
Following the ceremony, His Highness’s representative, may God protect him, conducted a tour of the third phase of the Martyr’s Park, during which he inspected the park’s external and internal facilities, including cultural, tourist, and recreational areas, as well as commercial projects and logistical services within the park.
His Highness’s representative, may God preserve him, departed the event venue amid the same warm reception and respect with which he had been welcomed.
