Pakistani Ambassador to Al-Jarida: We Welcome Developing Defense Cooperation with Kuwait

The Pakistani Ambassador to Kuwait, Zafr Iqbal, affirmed that a visit by a Kuwaiti military delegation to Pakistan reflects the depth and nature of the long-standing historical defense relations between the two countries. He noted that the visit provides an important opportunity to exchange expertise and enhance practical cooperation between the armed forces of both nations, while simultaneously denying the presence of any Pakistani troops in Kuwait.
Speaking to Al-Jarida, Iqbal said his country welcomes this important communication between the two sides, as it offers an opportunity to exchange expertise and develop practical cooperation in areas such as supply, logistics, and services, alongside technical fields, training, armament, and equipment.
He added that Pakistan highly values its close and reliable defense partnership with Kuwait, reaffirming his country’s commitment to continuing to strengthen cooperation between the two nations by developing institutional and professional ties between their respective armed forces.
When asked by Al-Jarida whether there are currently Pakistani soldiers in Kuwait, Iqbal stated, “There are no soldiers; the Kuwaiti Ministry of Defense relies on contractors and service providers in the logistics sector.”
