As part of his official visit to the friendly Italian Republic, Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior, Major General Abdulwahab Al-Wahib, and his accompanying delegation met with Judge Stefano Di Michele, Head of the Italian Prison Administration, along with several other officials, at Rebibbia Prison in the capital, Rome. The meeting was attended by His Excellency Nasser Sanhat Al-Qahtani, Kuwait’s Ambassador to the Italian Republic.
The meeting discussed ways to enhance cooperation and exchange expertise in the management of correctional institutions and the rehabilitation of inmates. The Assistant Undersecretary reviewed operational mechanisms, organizational and security procedures, as well as prominent modern systems and technologies employed, alongside the programs and practices adopted for inmate rehabilitation and reform, and improving the efficiency of the operational system.
Furthermore, the Assistant Undersecretary and his delegation conducted a field tour inside the prison, during which they observed programs aimed at rehabilitating inmates and facilitating their reintegration into society, mechanisms for organizing work within the facility, and the role of modern technologies in supporting the operational system and enhancing readiness levels.
This meeting aligns with the Ministry of Interior’s commitment to strengthening cooperation and exchanging expertise with relevant authorities in the friendly Italian Republic, and benefiting from modern practices in inmate rehabilitation and reform, thereby contributing to the development of the operational system, enhancing staff efficiency, and bolstering institutional capacities.
Earlier, the Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior, Major General Abdulwahab Ahmed Al-Wahib, and his accompanying delegation arrived in Rome yesterday evening on an official visit to the friendly Italian Republic, as part of a program aimed at enhancing cooperation and exchanging expertise in several areas of security work.
