A faction of “Hezbollah Brigades – Iraq,” affiliated with Iran, cast doubt on the withdrawal of the US-led international coalition forces, claiming that “US enemy reconnaissance and combat aircraft are still operating in Iraqi airspace as of this hour.” It asserted that it possesses documents substantiating its claims.
Iraqi authorities announced two days ago that they have assumed full control of Iraqi airspace and are conducting patrols instead of coalition aircraft.
The armed faction threatened yesterday to overthrow Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi’s government and close Iraq’s borders with neighboring countries if his administration continues to comply with US sanctions on Iranian flights. Meanwhile, while the “Ahl al-Kahf” faction dismissed arms restrictions as “illusions,” Jafar al-Husseini, the official spokesperson for “Islamic Resistance,” declared that they would not adhere to any timeline or agreement issued by any governmental or political entity.
Al-Husseini stated: “The resistance’s weapons will remain a trust in the hands of our mujahideen. As always, its compass will continue to be directed against any enemy targeting Iraq and its people. At the same time, our doors will remain open to any dialogue that ensures Iraq’s sovereignty, dignity, and liberation from the dominance of evil, criminal, and tyrannical America.”
