Interior Ministry warns against abandoning animals or leaving them in public places

The Ministry of Interior has urged citizens and residents to exercise caution and vigilance when encountering stray dogs, advising them to keep their distance, remain in safe areas, clearly identify the dogs’ locations, and contact the emergency number (112) to enable the relevant authorities to take the necessary coordinated measures.

The Ministry emphasized that pet owners and custodians must comply with the regulations and laws governing the possession and care of animals, in order to help ensure the safety of everyone.

It further stressed that if animal owners are unable to continue caring for their pets, it is prohibited to abandon them or leave them in public places. The Ministry called on such owners to contact the emergency number (112) to facilitate the handling or retrieval of the animals in coordination with the competent authorities.
