Al-Jarida has learned that the Ministry of Social Affairs has formally written to the Civil Service Bureau to exempt citizens applying for the positions of financial and administrative inspectors in the cooperative sector from the two-year experience requirement, in order to facilitate their applications and enable the largest possible number of them to secure these posts.

According to sources within the Ministry of Social Affairs, the key current requirements for receiving applications are that applicants must hold, at a minimum, a bachelor’s degree in accounting for financial inspectors, and a bachelor’s degree in law for administrative inspectors. “Any application that does not meet the admission requirements will be rejected,” the sources clarified, adding that the aim of this initiative is to accept recent graduates who wish to join and work in the cooperative sector.

The sources stated that other requirements include holding a bachelor’s degree with a minimum overall grade of “very good,” or its equivalent on a points system, from Kuwait University or one of the universities accredited by the Ministry of Higher Education, in one of the majors specified in Civil Service Council Decision No. 2016/34 concerning the positions and allowances of Kuwaiti employees occupying specialized, technically graded cooperative oversight roles in the Ministry of Social Affairs. Additionally, applicants must not be members of the board of directors of a cooperative society, nor former members who have been dismissed, and must not exceed 40 years of age on the closing date for applications for the position.

Meanwhile, the sources revealed that the Ministry of Social Affairs is coordinating with the Civil Service Bureau to introduce additional job grades for these inspectors, in line with operational needs and a commitment to strengthening oversight of cooperative societies. They noted that the selection of 90 inspectors—60 administrative and 30 financial—does not mark the end of the process, as this number reflects only the grades currently available from the Bureau and will be filled from among the applicants. The introduction of new grades depends on the Ministry’s need to cover supervisory and administrative duties.
