Kuwait Municipality confirmed today, Tuesday, that it will continue its field inspections as part of the “Build, Don’t Destroy” campaign, which aims to ensure compliance with safety regulations to safeguard the security and well-being of workers and residents in residential cities.
Mohammed Al-Muwaisiri, head of the safety inspection team at the Al-Farwaniyah Governorate branch of the municipality, told reporters that the inspections in the governorate resulted in issuing eight warnings for violations related to non-compliance with regulations and controls governing construction works.
Al-Muwaisiri added that the campaign aims to raise awareness about the importance of adhering to regulations and controls for construction, demolition, and renovation works, by educating property owners and contractors on the necessity of transporting rubble and construction waste to designated sites, rather than leaving them in courtyards, roads, or public areas.
He stressed the need for proper handling of construction rubble and debris, warning that neglecting such waste by contractors and property owners could endanger the lives of workers and residents in the affected areas.
He noted that the “Build, Don’t Destroy” campaign is part of Kuwait Municipality’s efforts to strengthen oversight, curb violations, and foster a culture of preserving the environment and public property.
Al-Muwaisiri called on plot owners and those with houses under construction to follow the municipality’s official accounts to benefit from awareness messages and guidelines that will be issued periodically, and to contact the municipality to inquire about any regulatory requirements, thereby facilitating their procedures and ensuring compliance with laws and regulations.
