Yemeni Army Announces Killing of Hundreds of Houthis and 4 Iranian Experts

As land clashes and air raids intensified in Yemen, the government army announced on the night of Sunday–Monday that it had carried out 756 operations targeting Houthi militia positions, personnel, and military capabilities over the past 72 hours. It stated that these operations spanned several fronts in Taiz, Al Jawf, Marib, Al Bayda, and Lahej, resulting in the killing and wounding of hundreds of rebels and four Iranian experts.

Majid Al-Nazili, spokesperson for the armed forces, clarified that the operations, which also covered the Kattaf, Al-Buqah, and Al-Alab axes, as well as the city of Al-Mukha, involved the use of air forces, drones, snipers, field artillery, and rocket launchers. They led to the destruction and damage of Houthi troop carriers, military reinforcement vehicles, missile launch platforms, weapons depots, and other military equipment.

Al-Nazili noted that the operations resulted in “neutralizing 2,316 Houthi militia members, killed or wounded,” and that four Iranian experts specializing in operating and launching drones and missiles were killed in Taiz Governorate.

He accused the Houthis of “distorting facts” and falsely attributing attacks on civilians and civilian objects to the armed forces, pointing to an incident at the Amr ibn al-As school in the Al-Mudhariba and Ras Al-Ar’a directorates of Lahej Governorate on September 23, which he said resulted in the deaths of three civilians, injuries to four others, and damage to the educational facility.

For its part, Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly condemned the strikes on infrastructure and civilian targets in Yemen, emphasizing that the continued violation of Yemen’s national sovereignty and territorial integrity, aggressive operations against the country’s cities and villages, alongside the ongoing economic blockade, contravene the fundamental principles of the UN Charter.
