Kuwait Finance House (KFH), in strategic partnership with CODED Academy, concluded the sixth edition of the “Kuwait Codes” initiative at a closing ceremony that showcased students’ innovative projects and honored outstanding participants. The event was attended by a number of officials, partners, parents, and stakeholders interested in the technology and education sectors.

During his speech at the awards ceremony, Fahd Al-Saad, First Director of Public Relations and Events at KFH, stated that “Kuwait Codes” represents one of the pioneering initiatives reflecting the bank’s commitment to supporting education, empowering youth, and investing in their capabilities by providing them with technical and knowledge-based skills that enable them to keep pace with future demands and contribute to supporting Kuwait’s digital transformation journey.

Al-Saad added that the strategic partnership between KFH and CODED, ongoing since 2018, serves as a successful model of cooperation aimed at empowering youth and investing in their technical capabilities. Through the “Kuwait Codes” initiative, this partnership has enabled more than 10,000 students, enhanced their digital and technical skills, and prepared a generation capable of meeting future challenges with confidence and efficiency. The initiative has also contributed to raising awareness about cybersecurity and embedding digital culture across various age groups, thereby supporting efforts to build a more aware and prepared digital community ready for rapid technological change.

He emphasized that investing in human capital is one of the most important pillars of sustainable development, noting that KFH is keen to support initiatives that help prepare a generation capable of leading the digital future and the knowledge economy, in line with Kuwait’s vision for digital transformation and building a society based on innovation and technology.

He clarified that the projects and ideas presented by students at the closing ceremony exemplify the creativity and promising potential of Kuwaiti youth, and confirm the initiative’s success in developing analytical thinking, problem-solving, and teamwork skills, as well as fostering innovation and entrepreneurship among participants.

He pointed out that “Kuwait Codes” is no longer just a programming training program, but has become a national platform that contributes to discovering young talents and empowering them to leverage technology to innovate solutions and ideas that serve society and meet future needs.

Al-Saad extended his thanks and appreciation to CODED Academy, its trainers, and all those involved in the initiative. He also praised the important role of parents in supporting and motivating their children to acquire technical skills, and congratulated all participants on their outstanding achievements during the program.

In the context of supporting innovation and sustainability, Al-Saad stated that KFH launched the Digital Sustainability Award for the best technical project aligned with sustainability concepts, aiming to encourage students to develop innovative digital solutions that serve society and enhance the digital transformation journey. The award was won by student Noura Al-Khuzai for her project “Be Aware,” an innovative application that motivates community members to contribute to keeping Kuwait clean by reporting or photographing waste locations, while leveraging artificial intelligence to identify the type of waste in images. The app also features a points-based incentive system that allows users to exchange points for rewards, thereby promoting a culture of social responsibility and environmental sustainability through innovative technological solutions.

He noted that supporting education and empowering young people are fundamental pillars for achieving sustainability, reflecting Bayan Al Qibla’s belief that investing in human capital is the most important and impactful investment, and embodying its pioneering role in corporate social responsibility and its ongoing commitment to contributing to the development of a knowledge-based economy driven by creativity and innovation.

He clarified that the bank will continue to invest in high-impact initiatives with sustainable and long-term effects, particularly in the fields of education, technology, and innovation, in line with its social responsibility and its developmental role as an active partner in supporting the community.

For his part, Hashem Bahbahani, Co-Founder of Code Academy, said: “Bayan Al Qibla’s partnership with the academy began from the initiative’s launch, and it has had a significant impact on developing students’ capabilities and enhancing their technical and creative outputs year after year. We appreciate this continuous support for the Kuwait Codes initiative and for many other Code Academy initiatives, and we look forward to sustaining this fruitful partnership in the coming years, thereby contributing to empowering more Kuwaiti youth and preparing them for future requirements.”
