Kuwait participates in the 17th Meeting of Arab Finance Ministers

Kuwait participated today in the seventeenth meeting of the Council of Arab Finance Ministers, held in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates. The Kuwaiti delegation was led by Asil Al-Munaifi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Finance, on behalf of His Excellency Minister of Finance Dr. Yaqoob Al-Sayed Yousef Al-Rafai, with the participation of several officials from the Ministry of Finance.

The meeting discussed a number of economic and financial issues of common interest, most notably the state of public finances in Arab countries, diagnostic assessments and fiscal policies, as well as opportunities for leveraging artificial intelligence in tax administration, sustainable financing to achieve sustainable infrastructure, and a review of the latest developments in implementing tax decisions related to Base Erosion and Profit Shifting (BEPS). The meeting also addressed Arab countries’ positions vis-à-vis the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank Group.

Kuwait’s participation underscores its commitment to strengthening Arab financial and economic cooperation, exchanging expertise and experiences in confronting economic and financial challenges, and supporting joint efforts aimed at achieving economic stability and sustainable growth in the Arab region.
