The Kuwait Stock Exchange concluded Monday’s trading session with mixed performance across its indices, amid a notable increase in trading volume and liquidity. The session saw limited positive movement in leading shares on the First Market, contrasted by selling pressure on a segment of shares in the Main Market, which clearly impacted the “Main 50” index.

The General Market Index closed nearly flat at 8,844.38 points, declining slightly by about 0.40 points. Meanwhile, the First Market Index rose by 0.05%, equivalent to 4.39 points, to reach 9,240.13 points. Conversely, the Main Market Index fell by 0.25%, losing 22.98 points to close at 9,141.65 points. Pressure was heavier on the “Main 50” index, which dropped 1.49%, or 157.49 points, to 10,380.90 points.

The session witnessed active trading, with a total traded value of approximately 125.77 million Kuwaiti dinars, involving around 426.02 million shares across 27,883 transactions.

The combination of the General Market Index remaining stable at previous levels and liquidity rising to over 125 million dinars indicates active liquidity rotation and portfolio rebalancing among stocks, rather than a unified movement in a single direction. The divergence between the rise in the First Market and the decline in the Main Market, particularly the “Main 50,” suggests that buying activity was not broad-based but concentrated in a select group of stocks.

In terms of the most actively traded stocks by value, “Eva” led trading with approximately 15.08 million dinars, with its share price rising 5.80%. It was followed by “Arzan,” with trades valued at around 10.39 million dinars and a 0.33% increase. “Bitak” ranked third with liquidity of about 7.66 million dinars, rising 0.13%, followed by “GFH” with approximately 4.51 million dinars in trades and gains of 0.59%. Boubayan Bank’s trades amounted to around 4.26 million dinars, with its share price declining by 0.58%.

The most active stocks indicate that liquidity was distributed among several stocks in both the First and Main Markets, with “Eva” and “Arzan” alone accounting for approximately 25.5 million dinars of the session’s trading volume.

Conversely, “Aayan” led the most declining stocks, falling 1.75%, followed by “Al-Moshtraka” by 1.65%, “Al-Ghanim” by 1.34%, “Al-Jazira” by 1.26%, and “Alf Energy” by 1.18%.
