Iran proposes 7-day plan to reopen Strait of Hormuz

Araghchi said, “We have presented a plan to the United States through intermediaries, stating that if certain conditions are met, the Strait of Hormuz will be reopened by the end of the seventh day, and talks will resume.”

Araghchi declined to elaborate on the details of the conditions, but said they are “no more” than what the two countries agreed upon in June.

Representatives from the United States and Iran held talks on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly on Tuesday, marking the first such negotiations in months.
