Injured Mbappe leaves France camp

Kylian Mbappé, captain of the French national team, who sustained a knee injury during the European Nations League football match against Turkey, will leave his country's training camp on Friday "to avoid any risk," according to coach Zinedine Zidane, who made the announcement on TF1 channel.

"Zizou," responding to a question about the Real Madrid striker leaving immediately after scoring the opening goal (54th minute), said: "Things don't look good, unfortunately. I think he will have to return." When the channel's journalist asked again, "So Kylian Mbappé's camp is over?" Zidane replied: "Yes, because we will not take any risks. He suffered an overstretch in his knee."

The French Football Federation subsequently confirmed that Mbappé, who is "suffering from a tendon injury," will return to Madrid for treatment.

The new French national team coach clarified that the Real Madrid striker was injured "during the shot" that resulted in the winning goal against Turkey. Zidane reiterated: "The signs are not entirely encouraging for him to continue. We will not take any risks."
