Boxing Kicks Off Its Season with the First Junior Championship

The tournament, featuring participation from a number of young players across age categories, marks the first leg of the new season for the federation.

The event holds special significance as it is designed to identify promising talent in the sport, giving young athletes the opportunity to gain experience through competition and interaction at the early stages of their sporting careers.

For his part, Boxing Federation President Abdullah Khaled Al-Otaibi confirmed that the federation’s board of directors is working to broaden the sport’s participant base, with a focus on youth age groups as the fundamental pillar for building national teams in the future, alongside providing players with regular opportunities to compete in local tournaments.

He added: “The organization of the tournament is part of the federation’s plan for the new sports season, aiming to strengthen boxing’s presence across all age groups and contribute to identifying new talents who can be developed and prepared to represent Kuwait in upcoming competitions.”
