Several areas in southern Lebanon witnessed an escalation in security tensions today, Saturday, due to attacks and military activities by Israeli occupation forces, including aerial flights, artillery shelling, and the dropping of internationally prohibited white phosphorus bombs.

The Lebanese National News Agency reported that an Israeli occupation force advanced to the outskirts of the town of Deir Mimas in the Marjayoun district, moving from the southern side toward olive groves, where it remains stationed.

The agency added that the municipality of Deir Mimas issued a statement urging residents not to go to fields and olive groves at present for security reasons, until the 28th of the current month, with further announcements to follow depending on the evolution of the situation.

The agency clarified that the town of Shaqra was subjected to artillery shelling by occupation forces, while intense low-altitude flights by occupation drones were recorded over the skies of Beirut’s southern suburbs.

It noted that the occupation’s air force launched a series of airstrikes on Al-Jabal Al-Rafi’ in the Apple Region highlands, coinciding with a field explosion between the towns of Sarbineh and Mansouriyyeh, and the dropping of illuminating bombs between Haddatha and Al-Tayri.
