Al-Murri: Kuwait Committed to Supporting International Efforts to Prevent Pandemics

Deputy Foreign Minister for Gulf Cooperation Council Affairs, Ambassador Hamad Al-Mari, reaffirmed on Friday Kuwait’s commitment and support for international efforts aimed at strengthening pandemic prevention, preparedness, and response.

This came in a statement delivered by Ambassador Al-Mari at the high-level meeting on pandemic prevention, preparedness, and response, held on the sidelines of the high-level week of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.

Ambassador Al-Mari stressed the importance of enhancing surveillance and early warning capacities, as well as the exchange of information and expertise, alongside investing in health workforce development, to support national health systems and bolster their capacity to confront pandemics.

The meeting discussed ways to strengthen pandemic preparedness, prevention, and response, and to develop joint international efforts in this field.
