Chiefs of Staff of the Member States of the Mecca Defense Agreement Hold a Meeting in Riyadh

The chiefs of general staff of the states party to the Mecca Agreement for Joint Defense held a meeting in Riyadh today, attended by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, and the Republic of Turkey.

The chiefs of general staff reviewed the security situation and the threats facing Saudi Arabia, and expressed their strong condemnation of the attacks that targeted the holy city of Mecca and the Kingdom’s civilian and economic infrastructure.

The participants discussed ways to advance cooperation among the armed forces of the three countries, develop intelligence cooperation and military coordination, and enhance capability integration, thereby contributing to strengthened deterrence and collective defense.

The participants praised the longstanding relations and mutual trust binding the peoples of the three countries and their armed forces. They affirmed that their meeting in Riyadh reflects the robustness of their defense partnership and their shared resolve to immediately translate the commitments outlined in the Mecca Agreement for Joint Defense into effective military cooperation.
