Celebration with a "shooting" gesture sends off the occupying team's player

Said Abu Farah, striker for the Israeli national team, was sent off during the match that ended 3-1 in favor of Austria in the UEFA Nations League, after celebrating his goal with a gesture mimicking firing a gun using the corner flag.

Abu Farah, 20, scored the equalizer for Israel with a header in the 55th minute, after Austria had taken the lead through Romano Schmid from a penalty before the end of the first half, according to the Al-Sharq Al-Awsat newspaper.

Following the goal, Abu Farah headed toward the corner flag and grabbed it, then performed a motion simulating the use of a rifle and firing as part of his celebration.

The player had received a yellow card just four minutes earlier, prompting the referee to show him a second yellow card for the celebration, followed by a red card, leaving Israel to play the remainder of the match with ten men.

Austria capitalized on the numerical advantage and regained the lead in the 90th minute through Philipp Moini, assisted by a cross from Paul Wanner, before Sasha Kalajdzic added a third goal in stoppage time with a close-range shot.
