The Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development announced today that Al-Humaidi Foodstuff Company and Al-Humaidi Limited, as co-contributors, have pledged a total of $2 million to the Kuwait Emergency Response Fund, with each company contributing $1 million.

In a press statement, the Fund said that these two contributions add to the list of supporters of the Fund, representing two companies operating in different sectors of economic activity. This reflects the diversity and broad scope of the institutions participating in the initiative, encompassing multiple sectors of the Kuwaiti market.

The contributions come at a time when the Fund has begun directing its resources toward financing damage repair works, following the transition from the fundraising phase to the implementation of approved projects and the assessment of needs submitted by affected government entities.

Al-Humaidi Foodstuff Company is active in Kuwait’s food manufacturing sector, with activities including the processing, preservation, and production of a range of food products. Al-Humaidi Limited, on the other hand, operates in the furniture and home furnishings trade sector and manages the operations of IKEA in Kuwait, one of the leading global brands specializing in furniture and home solutions.

The Kuwait Emergency Response Fund was launched under the initiative of the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development and with the approval of the Council of Ministers. The Fund is responsible for managing and directing its resources to finance response, recovery, and damage repair works affecting the country’s essential facilities and services.
