Artist Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Muslem revealed aspects of the preparations at the Dasma Theater, which is undergoing comprehensive renovations in preparation for hosting the first performance of “Group of Peace’s” play, “Al-Taqaga Noura... The Jinn’s Wedding,” starring actress Huda Hussein.

Al-Muslem noted that the scale of the development, which encompassed the theater, will amaze the audience. The venue has been designed and renovated to rival theaters in London and New York, positioning it as one of Kuwait’s most significant theaters in terms of both aesthetics and content.

He emphasized his commitment to sharing glimpses of the theater’s renovations with his audience via his Instagram account, stating, “The backstage developments of the Dasma Theater building reflect an attractive and beautiful image of Kuwaiti theater. I extend my gratitude to the National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters for its efforts in facilitating the comprehensive renovation process, which befits the audience of this venerable art form in Kuwait and abroad, in collaboration with Al-Salam Al-Awwal for General Trading and Contracting and Al-Salam Media Group.”

Al-Muslem added, “The United Kingdom leads the world in theatrical art, with its capital, London, ranking first, although most performances are also staged in New York. Nevertheless, we still dream of delivering a pioneering theatrical experience in Kuwait that enhances the country’s status as the ‘Hollywood of the Gulf,’ a leader in Gulf theater, and one of the most important Arab theaters of all time.”

The play previously performed in Kuwait and the Gulf region, featuring artists Huda Hussein, Mohammed Al-Ajmi, Mais Kamar, Meshal Al-Shaie, Mona Dashti, Ali Al-Quraishi, Saleh Al-Buhair, Ahmad Iyad, Khaled Al-Obeid, and a group of prominent artists, along with the folk dance troupe of Al-Salam Group for Spectacles. It is one of the popular musical works that blends Kuwaiti folk heritage into a dramatic and theatrical presentation, enveloped in horror and visual illusions that captivate the audience, while simultaneously narrating fictional stories from folk heritage concerning magic, sorcery, and superstition. This creates a unique fusion of fantasy, heritage, and comedy.

Al-Muslem concluded that the scenography, which played a leading collective role in this distinguished work, takes on a distinct and dazzling character with the new developments at the Dasma Theater, marking a strong launch for theater through one of Al-Salam Group’s most important productions.
