The Kuwait Association for Plastic Arts hosted the group art exhibition “Contemporary Color Concepts” at its headquarters in the Hawalli area, featuring a select group of female visual artists: Khaloud Al-Kharibit, Badriya Al-Kandari, Sharifa Al-Awaidi, Zainab Muzaffar, Anfal Al-Shamari, and Aisha Al-Fajri. The exhibition showcased diverse artistic visions and styles, where colors and ideas converged to create a visual world. The opening was attended by members of the association’s board of directors, along with a gathering of artists, art enthusiasts, and interested visitors, who viewed the participating works and explored the artists’ experiences.

“Al-Jarida” interviewed some of the participating artists, beginning with Khaloud Al-Kharibit, who presented six artworks that explored women in various human emotions and states, evoking moments of happiness, sadness, irritation, and joy, in an effort to delve into their inner worlds and express their emotional fluctuations through the language of color.

Al-Kharibit prominently relied on the colors red and blue in her works, while the presence of dark colors was limited, lending her pieces a bright and visually vibrant quality that harmonized with their humanistic themes.

Al-Kharibit noted that her participation in the exhibition represents a new step that adds a fresh dimension to her artistic experience, allowing for interaction with the public and fellow artists. She emphasized that her presence in the visual arts scene extends beyond exhibitions to include participation in art competitions, where she continues to develop her experience and refine her artistic tools.

For her part, Badriya Al-Kandari participated in the exhibition with six artworks belonging to the realm of contemporary art, aiming to present a visual perspective based on the harmony and interplay of colors in a artistic composition that carries messages of hope and aspiration for the future.

This marks Al-Kandari’s first participation in a group art exhibition, particularly as she had previously competed in the “The Filial Son” art competition, where she won first place—an achievement that reflects her passion for art and her commitment to developing her visual arts experience.

As for Zainab Muzaffar, she presented six artworks in the exhibition that captured human emotions within a modern and contemporary framework, attempting to give human feelings and internal transformations a visual language that transcends traditional modes of expression.

Muzaffar stated that her works reflect various human emotions and states, including pain, exhaustion, and the transformations people undergo, as well as the idea of exchanging emotions and shifting roles that individuals experience throughout their lives.

She mentioned that she participated with six paintings, which took approximately two weeks to complete. She noted that some of the paintings date back to 2023, and two of them had been previously exhibited, while the rest are being shown to the public for the first time.

For her part, Anfal Al-Shamari participated with six artworks, all presented in a vertical format, and her vision aligned with modern abstraction and realistic abstraction.

Al-Shamari explained that her primary approach in her works relied on monochromatic gradients, where she sought to harmoniously employ different shades of a single color, thereby giving the paintings a calm visual rhythm and highlighting their details and compositional spaces.
