The Kuwait Stock Exchange recovered a significant portion of the losses recorded in yesterday’s session, closing Wednesday’s trading with broad-based gains across its indices. This rebound was driven by selective buying in leading and mid-cap stocks, pushing the market capitalization up by approximately 453 million dinars in a single session.

The market’s capitalization reached about 52.888 billion dinars at the close of trading, compared to 52.435 billion dinars at the end of yesterday’s session, representing an increase of nearly 0.87%.

The rise follows Tuesday’s session, which saw selling pressure, particularly on several stocks in the main market, causing the Main 50 Index to record a substantial loss of 7.61%.

By the end of today’s trading, the General Market Index closed up 0.86%, equivalent to 75.26 points, at 8,830.61 points, after losing 1.03% in yesterday’s session.

The Main 50 Index, which was most exposed to pressure in Tuesday’s session, rose 0.61% today, equivalent to 63.56 points, closing at 10,463.01 points. This represents a limited rebound compared to the exceptional 7.61% loss it recorded yesterday.

The session saw the trading of approximately 374.1 million shares with a total value of 117.23 million dinars, executed through 27,260 transactions, reflecting continued trading activity.

National Bank of Kuwait topped the list of most-traded stocks by value, with transactions totaling about 14.42 million dinars, rising 2.71%. It was followed by Kuwait Finance House, with trading value of about 12.54 million dinars and a gain of 0.52%.

Al-Khalij Company ranked third, with trading value of about 7.10 million dinars, but continued to move against the market trend, falling 13.96%. Meanwhile, Tazween saw trading value of about 6.42 million dinars, with its stock rising 11.22%, and Awal Takaful increased 6.37% with trading value of about 6.04 million dinars.
