The Kuwait Stock Exchange staged a strong rebound during Wednesday’s trading session, as buying activity returned across a broad range of shares that had faced intense selling pressure in the previous session. This shift pushed the main market indices into positive territory, allowing them to recover part of their losses.
The rebound followed a session marked by heavy selling pressure, during which the General Index fell by 1.03%, the Main Market declined by 3.53%, and the “Main 50” index posted a sharp drop of 7.61%. These declines created opportunities for buyers to re-enter the market at new price levels, particularly in several shares that had suffered significant losses the previous day.
The gains were accompanied by notable trading activity, with total turnover reaching approximately 75.65 million Kuwaiti dinars, driven by the trading of around 237.4 million shares across 16,600 transactions.
Shares of Tazween rose by 8.84%, and those of Hotels gained 7.23%, signaling a return of demand for several stocks that had experienced sharp price movements in recent sessions.
Conversely, selling pressure persisted on a limited number of shares. Nisico fell by 9.56%, while Al-Khaliji declined by 8.41%, Markaz dropped 4.53%, Al-Kout fell 4.49%, and Taseel decreased by 2.70%.
In terms of trading value, Al-Watani led activity with approximately 10.25 million dinars in turnover, rising 2.59%. It was followed by Kuwait Finance House, which recorded turnover of around 8.86 million dinars and gained 0.91%, while Al-Khaliji’s trading volume reached approximately 5.4 million dinars.
