Macron at the UN: The situation in Gaza is a source of shame for us all

Speaking from the podium of the United Nations General Assembly on Tuesday, French President Emmanuel Macron defended the two-state solution for Palestinians and Israelis, deeming it unacceptable to “stand by with our hands tied” and watch “this scene that shames us all” in Gaza and the occupied West Bank.

The French president asked, “Where is our credibility if we remain with our hands tied in the face of Gaza?” He added that establishing a two-state solution is a guarantee of “security for Israel, as a state and as a people, today and tomorrow.”
