Orba enhances children's environmental awareness through the "Your School's Wish" event

Wurba Bank continues to strengthen its role in sustainability and corporate social responsibility through its participation in the “Amani School” event, featuring a cartoon character named “Saleh – Good Monster,” designed for children aged 5 to 12. The initiative aims to introduce concepts of sustainability and environmental conservation in an interactive and entertaining manner, helping to instill positive environmental behaviors in children from an early age.
Wurba’s participation in the event stems from its commitment to supporting community initiatives that raise environmental awareness among the younger generation. The bank has dedicated a booth within the event to welcome participating children and encourage them to collect plastic bottles and bring them to the bank’s booth at The Avenues Mall.
The initiative also motivates children to actively engage in recycling. Participants receive an incentive gift—a voucher worth one dinar provided by Kantin—in a step aimed at transforming environmental concepts into practical, interactive experiences that combine awareness-raising with entertainment.
The initiative targets educating children on the importance of environmental conservation and encouraging them to adopt more sustainable practices. It also seeks to reduce plastic bottle waste and promote the concept of recycling as a daily behavior in which children can contribute.
The event also focuses on presenting the concept of sustainability in a simplified manner appropriate for the target age group, helping to convey environmental messages to children in a practical and enjoyable way, and encouraging them to form positive habits that can last into the future.
Awaat Hamada, Senior Specialist in the Public Relations and Corporate Communications Department at Wurba, stated: “The bank’s participation in the ‘Amani School’ event, featuring the character ‘Saleh – Good Monster,’ is part of its commitment to supporting initiatives that combine community engagement with awareness-raising.” She emphasized that investing in raising children’s awareness is a crucial step toward building a generation that better understands the importance of environmental conservation and sustainability.
Hamada added that the initiative goes beyond providing theoretical information about the environment; it seeks to involve children directly by having them collect plastic bottles and deliver them to the bank’s dedicated booth, giving them the opportunity to apply the concept of recycling in a practical and interactive manner.
She explained that targeting children reflects the importance of instilling positive environmental behaviors from an early age. She noted that presenting these concepts in an entertaining and interactive format helps make sustainability part of children’s daily practices and enhances their ability to transfer these behaviors to their family and community environments.
Hamada affirmed that Wurba places great importance on initiatives that reflect its role in corporate social responsibility and sustainability. She pointed out that supporting environmental initiatives is part of the bank’s broader approach to contributing to raising awareness of issues affecting society, particularly among the new generations.
She highlighted that initiatives directed at children hold special importance, as they are a fundamental part of the community’s future. She noted that enhancing their understanding of the importance of environmental conservation from an early stage contributes to forming more conscious and sustainable practices in the long term.
The “Amani School” event provides an interactive space for children that combines recreational activities with awareness-raising, enabling them to learn about sustainability and environmental conservation in a way that suits their age and interests, in collaboration with Amani and Fursaha.
Through the dedicated “Oruba” booth, children learn about the importance of proper disposal of plastic waste and the role of recycling in reducing it. They also actively participate in collecting and handing over bottles, receiving a gift upon reaching the required number.
The bank’s participation in the event reflects its commitment to supporting initiatives that serve the community and promote social responsibility, with a focus on efforts that raise awareness among various demographics, particularly children.
This involvement aligns with the initiative’s core objectives: enhancing children’s environmental awareness, encouraging recycling, reducing plastic bottle waste, instilling positive environmental behaviors from an early age, and presenting the concept of sustainability in an interactive and entertaining manner suited to the target age group.
Through this participation, Oruba reaffirms its ongoing commitment to community and environmental initiatives, supporting activities that help spread a culture of sustainability and translate environmental awareness into practical actions. This strengthens community engagement and encourages emerging generations to play a positive role in protecting the environment.
