Qatar raises $3 billion from first international bond issuance of the year

Qatar raised $3 billion from its first public issuance of international bonds since last November, with investor demand reaching $6.8 billion, according to Bloomberg.
Qatar sold five-year bonds at a spread of 55 basis points over U.S. Treasury securities, while the spread on 10-year bonds stood at 65 basis points. The final pricing was approximately 30 basis points lower than the initial guidance levels.
The offering follows Qatar’s announcement of the launch of a domestic investments division within its sovereign wealth fund, a move aimed at boosting investment in the national economy and diversifying growth drivers. The issuance also underscores Doha’s continued presence in international debt markets, leveraging its strong credit rating and a broad base of investors in global markets.
