G7 foreign ministers call on Iran to halt arming the Houthis

The foreign ministers of the Group of Seven called on Iran yesterday, Monday, to halt its arming and support of the Houthis in Yemen, considering that such actions represent a dangerous pattern of escalation that threatens to undermine international trade and lead to global instability.

In a statement issued after a meeting held on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly, the foreign ministers of Britain, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, and the United States said, “We strongly condemn the ongoing and unacceptable Houthi attacks in Yemen against the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.”
